The Rapid Selection guides are designed to enable
you to achieve optimum
benefit from choosing the right solar protection fabric.
The system is based on four comfort factors:
 |
level of incoming light |
 |
glare control |
 |
improved thermal control |
 |
quality of exterior view |
These factors are applied to each fabric in relation
to its own features; the openess factor, weave, colour and
size of the
mesh and hence its energy and light qualities (transmission,
reflection, absorption).
Simply, the rapid selection guide rates each fabric and colour
from 1 to 40 for
each of the four comfort factors, 40 giving you optimum performance.
For example, Eye Comfort (glare control), a rating of 1 would
mean little or no
glare control, whereas a rating of 35 to 40 would mean excellent
glare control.
There are three steps to using the Rapid Selection
Guide :
-
Decide from the four factors (NL, EC, HP and CV), which
two are the most
important to your application.
-
From a colour swatch, choose the fabric colour that best
suits the decor.
-
Check the Rapid Selection Guide to see if
the fabric and colour meet your
comfort requirements.

Tip: for the same type of fabric, light colours let through
more light than dark colours.
|

Tip: for the same type of fabric, dark colours provide better
glare control
|
 |

Tip: the quality of visibility does not only depend on the
openess or light transmission, it also depends on colour.
Darker colours will provide better outward visibility.
