How to Install

Getting Started

Congratulations!  You will now have received your gorgeous Venetian blinds from iseekblinds!

To get you started on your installation, here are some helpful tips:

Installation Tool Kit

A small cordless drill to pre drill holes if required.

Pre drilling your bracket holes will avoid splitting your timber, particularly if you have an older style house.  It is also recommended for outside mounts.

Cordless screwdriver

Installation screws for Timber installation have been supplied with your blind – if you are installing into Masonry or Aluminium, you will need to purchase the appropriate installation screws.

 A Ladder if necessary

Organising your Blinds

Each of your blinds will have a sticker on them detailing the Room name and the blind number that you ordered them in.

Starting from the front door, and turning hard left as detailed in the How to Measure section, the first window should be Blind number 1.

Layout each of you blinds in front of the correct window.

Starting with the first venetian, carefully remove it from its packaging.  Once unwrapped, always handle your venetian blind from underneath the metal headrail.

Your Venetian comes complete with installation brackets and screws for Timber installation.

You are now ready to install!

Follow the instructions steps below for an easy installation.  For more detailed information on how to install your Aluminium Venetians, click on the Video link on the left hand side to view the installation videos.

 Inside Mount

1.  Place the Brackets (Figure 1) 90 mm from each end and evenly throughout the rest of the blind.  Make sure the middle brackets are placed between the ladder tapes so they do not interfere with the inner workings of the blind.

2.  Use a pencil to mark the bracket positions.

3.  Now place one screw through the top of each bracket to the underside of the window frame. (Figure 2)

4.  To install your blind, hold the blind from underneath the metal head rail and hook the front lip of your head rail over the entire brackets (Figure 3). Note the slight angle on the head rail when installing.

5.  Push the head rail toward the window to get the rear of the head rail to hook under the rear lip. This can generally be done in one action but with larger blinds you may need to work from one side to the other.
