To continue to provide our expertise in this space, we will leave our Plantation Shutter information up on our website for your information.
To add class and sophistication to any room as well as adding character and value to your property you can't go past white plantation shutters! Each blade is reinforced with an Aluminium core to ensure this durable material won't warp, crack, peel or fade. Providing great insulation properties PVC shutters are resistant to moisture and humidity – Perfect for 'wet areas' such as bathrooms, kitchens & laundrys.
Both Basswood and PVC Plantation Shutters are equal when it comes to pricing, quality, operation, insulation properties and how they look. It comes down to a question of personal preference, use & specifications. Basswood timber being a light weight hardwood is great for larger windows, whilst PVC is better suited to smaller windows and ‘wet’ areas such as bathrooms and laundries. Michael has 2 simple rules to consider when understanding which shutter type to buy. 1. Less is More – Don’t overcrowd your windows with too many panels 2. You must follow the window – ensure that the finished look is aesthetically pleasing from both the inside and outside of your house.Learn more
PVC plantation shutters are the perfect solution for the ‘wet’ areas in your house such as bathrooms, laundries and kitchens due to their moisture resistant properties. A heavier material than basswood, PVC is also better suited to smaller windows. Use the iseekblinds PVC panel layout charts to assist you to understand which layout will be the best fit for your windows.
Yes. As PVC is a heavy material, all our blades and stiles are reinforced with an aluminium core to ensure the longevity and quality of your plantation shutters. As long as the shutters are made within specification this reinforcement will prevent warping or bowing over time.
The Split tilt rod allows you to open or close sections of your shutter blades separately, giving you greater light control and privacy. You can close the lower portion of your blades for privacy, whilst leaving the top section open to let in light or an open view. You can opt to select split tilt as you proceed through the order process. There is no extra charge for this.
All of our plantation shutters come standard with an 89 mm blade / louvre
